Bukit Panchor State Park

Bukit Panchor state park
A thorny tree
The last place we visited was Bukit Panchor State Park. It was not as near to Nibong Tebal town as it seemed in the map that we got. We followed some road signs and eventually, to clear our doubts, we stopped by at a petrol station to ask for directions. We were on the right direction and just in case, you run out of petrol, there was a petrol station located ten minutes before reaching Bukut Panchor State Park.

The entrance to the park
We needed to pass by a small village road before finally reaching the park. There were numerous motorcyclists without helmets riding around. I guess they were just riding in their own neighbourhood.

Along the way, we saw a small Malay food stall and there were people hanging around there for late lunch or tea break.

There was no entrance fee to enter Bukit Panchor State Park and not many visitors at that time. We could also count the number of cars and motorcycles parked outside the park. Visitor information centre was not opened. We just walked in and took some shots of the rainforest trees.

This place had picnic sites where some families were taking advantage of that. The weather was hot during that afternoon and the air was still. We were expecting cool breeze because the place was basically surrounded by many tall trees. We were sweating while we quickly walked around and took some photos of the place.

Lush greenery in the background
The place was a little run-down. There was a large swimming area with two slides. I believe that this used to be a hot picnic area among the locals but now, the water in the pool was yellowish and looked muddy. Then, we saw a large signboard saying that visitors were not encouraged to swim as the water can be contaminated. This had sent us away from touching the water but there were some people swimming. Obviously, they were oblivious about the warning. Should we inform them? Or the signboard may be outdated.

A place for swimming and water activities but the water is murky
There was a cafeteria but it was closed. The toilets were functional. We were only there for about half an hour.
